Two goals from Pavel Pogrebnyak sent FC Zenit St. Petersburg into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup after they completed a remarkable comeback against Olympique de Marseille at the Petrovsky Stadium on Wednesday.
The Russian champions were trailing 3-0 in the closing stages of the first leg, but Andrei Arshavin's late away goal in France gave them hope and ultimately proved crucial as Dick Advocaat's men sealed a dramatic 2-0 second-leg success. Pogrebnyak scored his sixth European goal of the season on 39 minutes, then registered a seventh 12 minutes from time to repeat their last 16 elimination of Marseille two years ago.
