SALZBURG (SW) - After wins over Russia and Sweden, Spain went on to beat reigning champions Greece 2-1 in their final Group D match.

The Greeks were actually the dominating side in the first half and got their reward in the 42nd minute when Angelos Charisteas headed home from a free kick.

But Spain regained much of their usual strength in the second half and finally got the equalizer through Ruben de la Red in the 61st minute.

Guïza headed back to De la Red, who sent a very powerful shot past Nikopolidis for 1-1.

And with two minutes to go in regular time, it was Daniel Guïza to net the winning goal after a well directed cross from Sergio García.

Spain face reigning World Champions Italy in the quarter finals.
