EINDHOVEN (SW) - Huub Stevens, who will be taking over as PSV Eindhoven's manager next season, is still hopeful about a possible reconciliation with goalkeeper Heurelho Gómes.
The Brazilian keeper has been wanting to leave the club after strong disagreements with chairman Jan Reker.
"I would be a bad manager if I just accepted that," said Stevens in newspaper 'De Telegraaf'.
"I will soon be contacting Gómes. If needed I'll even travel to Brazil. I had a good conversation with him a few months ago, a lot has been said and done since.
"I do think there's still an opening. Besides, he's still under contract. Only if a club wants to pay the fee (14 million euros), I will accept his departure.
