Newcastle United fans are becoming increasingly restless as a result of a lack of signings.

To date only Jonas Gutierrez, the Argentinean winger and Danny Guthrie from Liverpool have been the only signings since the Premier League season closed in May.

Of more concern to the fans are the rumours that a number of key players have been linked to clubs elsewhere and that no replacements, if they do in fact leave, are on the horizon.

All of Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins and Shay Given have been rumoured to be leaving.

In an effort to calm the fans’ fears that the First Team squad is way too thin, Kevin Keegan has assured them that the club could be announcing up to three new players within a couple of weeks.
