Wilfred Bouma (R) in a tussle with Newcastle's Obefemi Martins (L) |
|
Dutch and Aston Villa defender Wilfred Bouma will almost definitely miss the beginning of the 2008/9 English Premier campaign.
The Aston Villa defender dislocated his right ankle in his side’s 1 – 0 victory over Denmark’s OB Odense in the Intertoto Cup.
The thirty year old defender only lasted a quarter of an hour on the field before having to be stretchered off.
The victory now means that Villa will go through to the second round of the cup.

I was at the game and had a Clean View of his foot, we were only about 20 or 30 meters away.Somebody said that it was a Double Dislocation, can anybody Tell me if this is true?

No just a regular dislocation. However, there was a minor fracture of the left lower fibula, and some minor damage to the ligament. He was transfered to the london Priory for the operation to set it back, as opposed to having it at city hospital where he was admitted =/
The damage isn't as bad as they thought but he will miss a lot of time.
