Further injury blow to Cristiano Ronaldo

Dave Cohen - 14 July 2008 09:38

Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Portugal

Portuguese national team physiotherapist Antonio Gaspar has announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be returning to action before October.

Manchester United’s winger will be sent back to Manchester in the next three weeks to recuperate after his ankle operation.

Gaspar added that he will be under his care for the next three weeks before Manchester United’s doctors carry out further examinations. At this stage the operation appears to have been successful.

Ronaldo has been in the spotlight for the last few months over his wish to leave English champions Manchester United for Spanish champions Real Madrid.

Real will not buy him because of this injury. They'll try next summer I guess.

Something is brewing here. Now the doctor is getting involved.

Queiroz-Gaspar-Ronaldo ;)...

Dear Fred, what do you think is going on?

gunner_eagle, I'm not sure, but I don't like what the doctor said: "Ronaldo will be under my care for the next 3 weeks before MU's doctors carry out further examinations." The doctor is hiding something. I bet he told Real Madrid to go ahead with the deal for Ronaldo because he's in great shape.

Uhm, sounds like a nice conspiracy theory :) It could be as you said... I'm intrigued now.

I think Ronaldo tries to avoid to go to Manchester and see Ferguson. When you add the three weeks to the time spent at the european championship (plus preparation period for the tournament), it will be almost two months away from manchester. A long time.

i sure hope it's a real injury and maybe one that will end this brat's career.

I don't know why I love to hate this guy. But as in BesTalentScout's feelings, it comes straight from the heart! :)

From Tontodonati on July 11st, 2008 12:26:

Here comes my infallible prediction you have all been waiting for: Cristiano Ronaldo will miss a lot more games that just the "season's opener" on August 19. i'm predicting that he will never play for United again. He's going to Ral Madrid.

Holy cow! Man, are you a psychic or something?

Crusader 1987, I am very happy that you take me seriously. I am not a psychic. I speak from experience. Having said that, why do I feel you quoted me just to show everyone how wrong I was in the eventuality that Ronaldo stays with MU?

ha ha ah ah, this is bad for Ronaldo, i think he's doctor stays with him because they are still waiting for the transfer and they don't trust Man U.

Tonto is not always on the money, but is fun to see his comments and insights become reality.

Oh, Ronaldo will be playing for Real Madrid sooner or later. If Man U doesn't sell him to Real, Ronaldo will just go there once his contract expires. I would be shocked if Ronaldo doesn't play for Real Madrid at some point in the future.

ohh yeah, you better believe it! but his rep went down. i don't think i would want him on my squad.

No matter what it is, MAN U fans around the world already hate him so much, he better leave to real madrid, his injury is not our (MAN U fans) concern anymore.......FOAD !!

Crusader & Tonto, read my comments posted on the 20th of June "Ronaldo not for Sale"

Tontodonati

newtownheath1878, yes, I've read your comment on "Ronaldo is not for sale." In fact, I went through the aggravation of scrolling down countless times just to get to June 20th. Having read your comment, I can say that you either have inside information (which I seriously doubt) or stated something that is common knowledge. I went out on a limb to predict that Ronaldo will not play another game for MU. Your prediction is not as daring as mine.Nevertheless, soon we shall see who truly has the proverbial crystal ball!
