FC Porto sign Colombian Guarin

LISBON (AFP) - Colombian midfielder Freddy Guarin on Friday completed a move from French side St. Etienne to Portuguese champions FC Porto.

The 22-year-old has signed a four-year deal.

"I promise to give everything for the club ... and to fight to win titles," said Guarin, who will fill the gap left after Brazilian midfielder Paulo Assuncao moved to Atletico Madrid.

Oh my, in Football Manager 2005, this kid was my favorite transfer. In the game he is 18 years old and plays for Colombian club Envigado. I always wondered when in real life I am going to hear his name at a big club. Now his time has come... great!
