LONDON (AFP) - Rangers have accepted an offer of three million pounds for Gabon striker Daniel Cousin from struggling English Premiership club Fulham, the Scottish giants confirmed on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old was the subject of an offer earlier this week which Rangers rejected, prompting Fulham to increase their bid to a level which triggered a release clause in Cousin's contract.
If the deal goes through, Rangers will bank a profit of two million pounds on the forward they signed from French club Lens in August.
French-born Cousin has scored eight times in 17 league matches for Rangers. Despite that impressive strike rate, he was far from popular with the Ibrox faithful because of what was seen as a minimal work rate.
Former Liverpool striker Jari Litmanen is another possible signing for Fulham after they confirmed the 36-year-old is training with them with a view to signing a short-term deal.
Litmanen has been reunited with Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson, under whom he played when he was Finland captain.
Fulham have also secured the services of Danish midfielder Leon Andreasen, 24, who moves from German club Werder Bremen on a three and a half year deal.
