GELSENKIRCHEN, Germany (AFP) - Bundesliga side Schalke 04 on Friday completed the signing of Brazilian Ze Roberto.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder, who arrives from Brazilian first division side Botafogo, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal.
Ze Roberto's arrival at the Bundesliga runners-up had been announced in the autumn but was held up for medical reasons.
He previously played for Japanese side Kashima Reysol and Portuguese first division side Benfica.
Schalke 04 added that they are also interested in signing Uruguayan international striker Vicente Sanchez from Mexican side Deportivo Toluca.
But the Ruhr-based side announced they have terminated the contract of Uruguayan defender Dario Rodriguez at the request of the player who wanted to leave for personal reasons after five years with the club.
