'Slow start' costs Spartak

FC Spartak Moskva coach Stanislav Cherchesov said only a tepid opening prevented them edging past Olympique de Marseille into the UEFA Cup Round of 16. "

After a big [3-0] defeat in France, we made a slow start, but then we got up to speed and scored twice," Cherchesov said. "We lacked the energy late on for the onslaught we needed. The only consolation is that the players involved in the first leg could get some revenge."
