BARCELONA/BASEL (SW) - Shakhtar Donetsk ended their Champions League campaign with a 2-3 win over Barcelona's reserve team, while FC Basel lost 0-1 to Sporting Lisbon and disappear from the European stage without a single win.
With everything decided in Group C, tonight's results were only for the record but at least it was a game to remember for Shakhtar.
Gladkiy scored in the 31st and 58th minute to give the Ukranians a comfortable lead although Sylvinho immediately scored back after Shakhtar's second goal to restore the original gap.
Fernandinho made it 1-3 in the 76th minute though and Busquets goal for 2-3 in the 83rd wasn't enough to steal a point.
FC Basel haven't been able to impress in this group phase and didn't do so either in their final performance. Sporting Lisbon won 0-1 with Yannick Djalo scoring the only goal after 19 minutes.
Barcelona remain in first place with 13 points from 6 games. Sporting are second with just one point less and Shakhtar come in third with nine. With one point, Basel are stuck at the bottom of the group.
