Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz is expected to ask his current club Blackburn Rovers for a formal release him from his contract so that he can join his former boss Mark Hughes at Manchester City.
Mark Hughes has made no secret of the fact that he wants his former Blackburn Rovers striker at Eastlands.
The twenty seven year old Paraguayan striker signed a new contract at Ewood Park at the beginning of the season but has openly come out and said that he regretted the move.
City made a ₤12 million offer for Santa Cruz but Rovers rejected that. It is expected that Hughes will go in with an improved offer of ₤15 million once the transfer window opens in January.
