Tottenham´s Spanish manager Juande Ramos watches his team during the pre season friendly football match against Norwich, July 2008. Ramos wants to get the unsettling Dimitar Berbatov transfer situation resolved this week, suggesting the Bulgaria striker will get his wish to move to Manchester United.

LONDON (AFP) - Tottenham manager Juande Ramos wants to get the unsettling Dimitar Berbatov transfer situation resolved this week, suggesting the Bulgaria striker will get his wish to move to Manchester United.

The Bulgaria striker was left out of Spurs' 2-1 defeat to Sunderland on Saturday after it was decided he was in the wrong frame of mind to play amid interest from United.

And with just a week to go until the closure of the transfer window, Ramos has called for the saga to be brought to an end so that he can bring in a replacement.

"We need to get this matter resolved before the transfer deadline," the Spaniard told the club's website.

"If Berbatov goes, we will need time to sign a replacement. We want to have the best centre forward we can possibly get."

A meeting was held between the manager, player and club directors on Sunday in a bid to bring the saga to a conclusion.

Berbatov arrived from Bayer Leverkusen two seasons ago for a fee of 15 million euros.

Ramos, it's easy....just sell him to Manchester United. We've been waiting four weeks for him now. Why has it taken you so long?

Because Keane left alrady, and with Berbatov leaving too, Ramos will miss a lot of firepower upfront. With one week to go before the transfer window, your chances are not so good to land great strikers. The decisions of their strikers have been a blow so far for Tottenham and I doubt that they will find adequate players before the winter transfer window. One more season is blown off before it could even start.

What a mess! Ramos should hold on to him just to spite him. It really messes up the club's plans when players start playing truant like this. Oh well, that's what the business of football is all about!

krazy....I agree with you, if players would just shut up, they would get what they wanted and help their current clubs maximize their value. He has hurt his club and now they have to trade him. Little does he know he will ruin his career in MU cause he will be nothing but a bench warmer quality player there. Ungrateful bastard!!!!
