It is a race between Championship rivals Southampton and Plymouth Argyle as to who will land Tottenham Hotspur striker Tomas Pekhart.
The nineteen year old Czech Republic Under Twenty One striker is available on loan and has been targeted by both clubs.
Pekhart has yet to play a match for the first team despite having been signed in 2006 and the move to either Southampton or Argyle would ensure him regular football.
Plymouth are also in the market for twenty year old Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes who is available on loan.
Sunderland manager Roy Keane has said that he will be ideally suited to the Championship and will benefit from the season in a lower division.
