Injured Kaka to miss start of Italian season

AC Milan´s Brazilian midfielder Kaka, seen in March 2008, will miss the start of the Italian football season on August 31, the club´s website said Friday.

ROME, Italy (AFP) - Brazilian football star Kaka of AC Milan will miss the start of the Italian football season on August 31, the club's website said Friday.

In May this year, the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year underwent surgery in Brazil to correct a problem with his left knee.

A club statement said: "Professor Martens confirmed that the player's knee is inflammated, and advised him to continue for 15 days with the therapeutic protocol he is following."

The Brazilian playmaker, who arrived in the Serie A club in 2003, agreed in February this year to extend his contract until 2013. AC Milan play Bologna in the first match of the season.

Hey, where are the Italians? At times, it gets under our skin the way you all brag: but we all love you anyway.... anyway, I'm not from England, in college I spent time in Essex where West Ham is, so I put the Hammers logo as my avatar, I like some of the more underdog teams, I like Blackburn too. Besides, I'm Catholic, so of course, we always love the Italians!

When do you see Italians brag on this site? In my opinion we are always under constant ridicule from all of the jealous nay-sayers. We spend more time defending ourselves than anything.

You are so right. We Italians are under constant abuse from all those individuals who feel that they are at liberty to insult us.

Chile _ car, thank you! I will not disappoint you. Nobody hates Italians. They just hate the way Italy wins world Cups! Why would anyone hate me when I do not insult anybody and I never use offensive and/or vulgar words?

PS. I'm not exactly a joker. I would like to think of myself as being an "intellectual" . . . Whatever that means!
