Fiorentina close to Champions League group phase
Adrian Mutu (L) scored the opening goal
FIRENZE (SW) - Italian side Fiorentina are close to securing a spot in the Champions League group phase following a 2-0 win over Slavia Prague in the third preliminary round.
Adrian Mutu, who recently extended his contract with 'la Viola', took care of the opening goal after only two minutes.
And fellow striker Alberto Gilardino doubled the lead close to the hour mark, with the Czech guests never managing to fight their way back into the clash.
The second leg match will be played in Prague on August 27th.
