Arsene Wenger desperate for silverware

It has been a long time, for a club such as Arsenal, since they had won a trophy.

The last time that Arsenal picked up any silverware was in 2005 when the Gunners won the FA Cup.

Arsene Wenger said in a statement today that his side’s main focus was to win the two biggest trophies on offer, namely the English Premiership and the UEFA Champions League.

While he saw the FA Cup as important, it did not hold the same value as the other two.

He added that the Carling Cup (League Cup) was of lesser importance than the other three and he would approach it the same way as he had done previously.

The shrewd manager also said that fans deserved a good deal this season.
