Spanish midfielder Tonet signs with St. Mirren
PAISLEY (SW) - Antonio Gueral Mayoral Tonet, a former Barcelona youth product, has signed a one year contract with St. Mirren, the Paisley club's website reported on Monday.
The 29 year old left-sided midfielder joins the Saints after spending the summer at the Scottish side on trial, scoring a goal for the team during a recent friendly against Blackpool. Prior to this season, he has also spent time with Spanish minnows AD Alcorcón and CF Fuenlabrada.
The new season is quickly approaching, with St. Mirren kicking off their campaign on Sunday at Celtic, but manager Gus MacPherson has hinted that he would like to make at least one more new signing before the August 31st transfer deadline. In addition to Tonet, MacPherson has already added the likes of Dennis Wyness, Tom Brighton, Jack Ross, and Steven Robb.
