Arsenal renew interest in Veloso

Arsene Wenger has shown renewed interest in Sporting Lisbon’s midfielder Miguel Veloso.

Wenger had previously shown an interest in the twenty two year old but nothing came of it then.

However with the departure of Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan Wenger has displayed interest in Veloso who would fill the vacuum.

Wenger has also shown interest in Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, but the asking fee of ₤18 million turned his attention away from the twenty six year old Spaniard for someone younger. He has also dropped his interest in Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry.

Veloso is expected to fetch around ₤22 million.
