Big clubs vying for Eto´o

Barcelona´s Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto´o takes part in his first team training session after the summer break in Barcelona. Barcelona technical secretary Txiki Begiristain has claimed that at least

LONDON (AFP) - Barcelona technical secretary Txiki Begiristain claimed Friday that at least "four or five big clubs" were interested in signing Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o.

Begiristain said, however, that there had been no official offers yet, with the striker needing to agree terms with a club before negotiations can begin.

"Samuel has to have an agreement, after this we will start negotiations. But first he has to be happy," Begiristain told Sky Sports News.

"We are waiting for this agreement. If he moves, it'll be to a big club, of course. There are four or five clubs interested."

The 27-year-old has been told he is not part of new coach Pep Guardiola's plans as Barca rebuild following a second successive trophyless season.

Barca president Joan Laporta said Thursday talks had taken place with Inter Milan and AC Milan, but no offer had been made for the forward.

He won't go to Turkey, but they gave him their sportsman of the year award a few years ago. I doubt if there is an outside chance he'd play for one of those teams. Fenerbahce: Luis? Maybe? Probably to Milan, that's what I'd think. Believe it or not, Tottenham is in the mix too. Just what the news is saying.
