Quick Report: Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United

Jonathan Roorda - 26 April 2008 15:56

Michael Ballack with Salomon Kalou

LONDON, Apr (26) - Chelsea are back in the title race after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

A Michael Ballack header just before half time gave Chelsea the lead in England's capital city but Wayne Rooney levelled the score in the 56th minute.

But only four minutes were left to play when Michael Carrick handled the ball in Manchester's penalty area. Ballack stayed calm and delivered an unstoppable penalty kick for 2-1.

Manchester got some good chances in the closing minutes but Chelsea survived to take three valuable points.

The two teams now have the same amount of points with two games to go, but United do keep the lead thanks to a much better goal record.

It was clearly a penalty though. The ball bounced up at exactly the moment it would have hit Carrick's arm..and is arm shouldn't have been there so it can't be judged unintentional.

I'm talking about penalty ON Carrick after Ballack scores from their penalty. And that was penalty on ROnaldo by Ballack
