Herzig makes Arminia commitment

Bundesliga outfit DSC Arminia Bielefeld have signed full-back Nico Herzig from second-tier TSV Alemannia Aachen on a free transfer. Herzig has signed a two-year contract with relegation-threatened Bielefeld, binding him to the club until summer 2010.

"Everbody knows how much I felt at home at Alemannia and in Aachen in general, but I had to make a decision and for footballing reasons I decided to join Arminia," said the 24-year-old, who arrived at Aachen from SV Wacker Burghausen in 2006. Arminia are 15th in the 18-team Bundesliga.
