Former Shakhtar boss dies

One of FC Shakhtar Donetsk's most celebrated coaches, Viktor Nosov, has died aged 68. Nosov took charge of the Ukrainian club in the 1970s and 80s, leading them to a runners-up spot in the Soviet championship in 1979 and two Soviet Cup successes in 1980 and 1983.

More recently, Nosov held the reins at FC Vorskla Poltava. His last job was as director of youth football at FC Metalurh Donetsk.
