Derby swoop for Zadkovich
Derby County manager Paul Jewell has signed Australia international Ruben Zadkovich. Zadkovich has signed a two-year contract with the Rams after deciding to leave Sydney FC at the end of his deal with the club last month to become a free agent.
The 21-year-old, who can play in central midfield or right-back, joins another Australian at Derby in Mile Sterjovski following his arrival at Pride Park in January.
Zadkovich has impressed after a recent trial, with Jewell quick to offer him a deal as he plots an immediate return to the Barclays Premier League following relegation this season.
"Ruben impressed us enormously in training," remarked Jewell. "A number of clubs have been interested in him, and we wanted to make sure we didn't miss out on a fantastic talent."
