LONDON (AFP) - Portsmouth won Thursday's toss for colours, dressings rooms and choice of end at Wembley for the FA Cup final against Championship side Cardiff on May 17.

Portsmouth will appear in their traditional blue, as in the semi-final against West Brom, for their first Wembley final in 69 years while Cardiff, nicknamed the Bluebirds, will be in the same mainly black strip they wore against Barnsley on Sunday.

Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie called correctly when the toss took place at the Football Association's headquarters here and his club have also been allocated the same east end of Wembley their fans occupied for the semi-final. Cardiff's supporters have been moved to the west end.

Harry Redknapp's team will again come from the same east dressing room as for the Albion clash.

Portsmouth, whose victory over Manchester United in the quarter-finals meant they were the last Premier League side left in this season's competition, are bidding to win the FA Cup for the first time since they defeated Wolves 4-1 in 1939 in the last Wembley final before the Second World War.
