Portsmouth booked their place in the FA Cup Final after a goal from Kanu was enough to beat West Bromwich Albion. Kanu broke the hearts of his former club West Brom by scoring the only goal in the first of the weekend's FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.
Kanu, an Albion player between July 2004 and August 2006 before leaving to join Pompey, struck the decisive blow in the 54th minute after Milan Baros' shot was parried.
West Brom had started the match the better of the two sides and were denied a late equaliser when Ishmael Miller shot just wide.
Portsmouth will discover who they will face in next month's final on Sunday, when Barnsley and Cardfiff City go head to head in the second semi-final.
