Almunia signs Gunners deal

Soccerway - 3 April 2008 20:54

Arsenal´s Spanish goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is pictured during training for the forthcoming UEFA Champions League quarter final first leg match against Liverpool at Arsenal´s training ground, London Colney, North London, on April 1. Almunia has been underlined by the announcement that the Spanish goalkeeper has signed an extension to his contract.

Manuel Almunia has signed a long-term contract extension and is hoping to finish his career with Arsenal. The 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper, who signed from Celta Vigo in 2004, has established himself as Arsene Wenger's first choice this season.

"I am very happy," said Almunia. "I have extended my contract and I hope to be here for a long, long time. Football can change your life in one second. At the start of the season, I was not playing. But football changed my life again and now I am one of the happiest men around."
