FIRENZE, Apr 2 (SW) - PSV manager Sef Vergoossen today commented on the upcoming match of his side with Italian team Fiorentina in the UEFA Cup quarter finals.
Vergoossen, who replaced Ronald Koeman this season and will leave the spot to make space for Huub Stevens this coming summer, said that Fiorentina is not a typical Italian team.
"This squad plays varied football. With combinations from the back, but they can also use long balls thanks to their kind of strikers.
"They also have a stable midfield that connects well. Definitely not a 'catenaccio' team," said the Dutchman.
Moreover, Vergoossen claimed that Fiorentina are better than Tottenham Hotspur, PSV's previous opponent in this tournament.
Therefore, PSV have to be cautious: "A single mistake can be deadly, but we also have to be on the lookout for our own possibilities. We have to take measures, but we also see chances."
The two sides face each other in Firenze, Italy, on Thursday.
