MADRID (AFP) - Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi underwent right knee surgery Monday and will be out of action for the next six weeks, his Spanish club announced.
The Italian youth international, who joined Villarreal from Manchester United on a 10 million euro deal this summer, picked up the injury in Sunday's 4-3 win at Atletico Madrid.
Rossi has been on fire since he joined Villarreal and is joint leading scorer in the league with seven goals this season.
