Inter Milan in double South American swoop

Inter Milan have announced the signing of Chilean midfielder Luis Jimenez, seen here in June 2007, and Colombian defender Nelson Rivas.

ROME (AFP) - Inter Milan announced the signing of Chilean midfielder Luis Jimenez and Colombian defender Nelson Rivas on Wednesday.

Chile international Jimenez joins the Serie A champions on a one-year loan from Italian third division side Ternana, who own the player.

The 23-year-old has also played for Inter's Serie A rivals Fiorentina and Lazio.

Rivas, 24, was snapped up from Argentine first division outfit River Plate and has signed a four-year-contract.
