Brazilian striker Borges transfers to Sao Paulo

SENDAI, Japan (AFP) - Brazilian striker Borges, the top goal scorer in Japan´s second division, has transferred from Vegalta Sendai to Brazil´s Sao Paulo FC on loan.

The 26-year-old striker will play for Brazil´s first division league leaders until December 31, Sendai officials said Wednesday.

Borges scored 26 goals in 41 games in Japan´s second division last year.

Sendai officials also said Wednesday that they had acquired Brazilian midfielder Jonilson and forward William from Brazilian teams Cruzeiro and Botafogo respectively on contracts running until December 31.

They will join Brazilian forwards Felipe and Leandro, who have signed from America FC on contracts running until June 30, the officials said.
