AC Milan coach predicts bright future for Aubameyang

7 January 2007 15:51

ROME (AFP) - AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti believes Willy Aubameyang has a bright future ahead ahead of him after the French teenager´s late goal decided Saturday´s Berlusconi trophy match against Juventus.

Aubameyang, who was born in Paris but is of Gabonese descent, came on for Cristian Brocchi in the 82nd minute at the San Siro and his towering header four minutes from time clinched a 3-2 victory for Milan.

"Willy is one of a crop of youngsters coming through and they represent the future of Milan," Ancelotti said.

"He is quick, intelligent and eager to learn. He can go very far."

Aubameyang, 19, has been an unused substitute for Milan in Serie A, but has never played in a match.

The Berlusconi trophy was created by AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi to honour his late father and began in 1991.

The match usually takes place before the start of the season, but was put back due to Milan´s involvement in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League and Juventus´ participation in the early rounds of the Italian Cup.
