FUKUOKA, Japan (AFP) - Ex-Australia defender Alvin Ceccoli is to rejoin former coach Pierre Littbarski at Japan's Avispa Fukuoka.
The 32-year-old, who played under Littbarski at Sydney FC, has signed a 10-month contract with the second-tier J-League side running to January 1 next year.
"I'm really glad to play in Japan. I'm looking forward to playing under my coaches Littbarski and (Ian) Crook," he said on Sunday.
"I'm going to integrate myself with the team as soon as possible and help the team to win."
Fukuoka were relegated to the second division after losing to Vissel Kobe in a playoff last season.
Littbarski, who lifted the 1990 World Cup as a player with Germany, piloted Sydney FC to the Australian league title and the Oceania Club Championship in the 2005-2006 season.
