TOKYO (AFP) - Midfielder Moussa Narry's late goal gave African champions Etoile Sahel of Tunisia a narrow 1-0 victory over Mexicans Pachuca in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup on Sunday.

The sole goal came in the 85th minute, although it was hard luck on the Mexicans, who had the better of much of the game.

Although Pachuca got off to a slow start, they created more chances than the Africans in the first half, with midfielder Gabriel Caballero forcing goalkeeper Aymen Balbouli into a smart save from a header.

In the 25th minute, Caballero again went close, while Christian Gimenez also had a chance to score in the opening 45 minutes.

It was more even in the second half, with Etoile on the back-foot but looking increasingly threatening on the break.

In the 74th minute Julio Manzur thought he had given Pachuca the lead, but he was ruled off-side, before Narry stole in late to win the game for Etoile, who will face South American champions Boca Juniors of Argentina in the semi-finals in Tokyo on Wednesday.
