BIRMINGHAM, England (AFP) - Birmingham signed Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios on loan from Olimpia on Friday.
Palacios will initially stay with the Premier League club until the end of December and if he impresses manager Steve Bruce he will complete a permanent deal from his Honduran club which would keep him at St Andrews' until 2010.
The 23-year-old was recommended to Bruce by Arsene Wenger. The Arsenal manager had Palacios on trial but decided he did not have room in his squad for another midfielder.
