Cabral appointed Esperance Tunis coach

TUNIS (AFP) - Brazilian Carlos Roberto Ferreiera Cabral has been appointed coach of struggling Tunisian first division side Esperance Tunis, the club confirmed Tuesday.

Cabral, who becomes the club's fourth coach in two months, signed a two-year deal and will officially take over his functions on September 3.

The club did not give details of his salary which local press reported will be 10,000 euros (13,600 dollars) per month.

Cabral, 62, coached Brazilian clubs Santos and Santa Helena before moving to Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

He spent most of his career at Egyptian club Zamalek, winning four titles with them between 2002 and 2005.

The club have been knocked out of the African Champions League are are currently 13th in the local league after two games.
