LONDON (AFP) - Manchester City striker Valeri Bojinov has been ruled out for most of the season after damaging the lateral and anterior cruciate ligaments of his left knee in Sunday's 1-0 win over Manchester United.
The Bulgarian striker fell awkwardly following an aerial challenge with Patrice Evra after just six minutes of his first start for the Blues.
City said Monday they expect the 21-year-old, signed from Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee in early August, to be out for "at least five months".
