DUISBURG, Mar 25 (SW) – Bayern Munich were able to take advantage of Hamburg losing at home to Borussia Dortmund and extend their leading gap to 9 points, while Werder Bremen hammered Hannover 5-0.

MSV Duisburg – FC Bayern Munich 1-3

Duisburg took a shock lead towards the end of the first half at the MSV-Arena, with Abdelaziz Ahanfouf opening the scoring in the 40th minute from the penalty spot. Bayern took the second half by storm, however, scoring three times in 15 minutes. Hasan Salihamidzic levelled the score in the 66th minute with Makaay and Pizarro finishing the game off comfortably for the visitors.

Hamburg – Borussia Dortmund 2-4

The lead changed hands three times over the 90 minutes at the AOL-Arena, with Dortmund being the first to go in front with a 25th minute Smolarek strike. Benjamin Lauth pulled the score back to 1-1 in the 36th and Ailton put the home side into the lead in the 68th. The lead lasted mere seconds, however, as Tomas Rosicky equalised for Dortmund in the 69th minute. A goal by Florian Kringe and another for Rosicky sealed the win for the visiting Dortmund team.

Werder Bremen – Hannover 5-0

Bremen rolled over Hannover with ease at the Weser Stadionwith a lot of help from Nelson Valdez. The Paraguayan opened the scoring just before half time with Johan Micoud adding a second before the break. Valdez then scored his second of the game in the 52nd minute, soon to be followed by a Klose strike in the 54th. Valdez then sealed his hat-trick with less than 10 minutes remaining to take home the match ball and three points for his side.

Schalke – Wolfsburg 2-2

Schalke had to settle for a shared point as they faced a defiant Wolfsburg side who were not to be outdone. Kevin Kuranyi opened the scoring after just 7 minutes, but the visitors were level by the half hour thanks to a Rock Hoogendorp goal. Lincoln then struck to put the home side back into the lead only for Christopher Lamprecht to allow Wolfsburg a share of the points.

FSV Mainz – Hertha Berlin 2-2

Mainz were unlucky to have gone home after this game with only a single point after a late saver for Hertha. Marko Pantelic put the visitors into the lead in the 41st minute but Michael Thurk equaliser for Mainz in the 51st. Conor Casey then went on to see the home team go 2-1 up with just 10 minutes left on the clock but a goal on the stroke of 90 minutes by Pantelic saw the honours even at the end of the match.

Stuttgart – Bayer Leverkusen 0-2

Leverkusen made this game look simple as both sides battle in the mid-table region of the Bundesliga. Paul Freier put Leverkusen into a 30th minute lead and it was left to Dimitar Berbatov to wrap things up on the 90 minute mark.

FC Cologne – Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1

FC Cologne got off to a blistering start as Christian Springer scored after just 2 minutes. Marko Rehmer levelled things up after 16 minutes and that’s how the game finished – a point a piece.
