Czech’s Koller will be available for World Cup
DORTMUND, Mar 24 (SW) - Czech Republic international striker Jan Koller is on schedule to return to club football in May, signaling that the powerful striker will be available for the World Cup.
Borussia Dortmund’s Koller tore ligaments in his knee in a September and was expected to be out for eight months, but the Czech Republic’s leading scorer has informed national boss Karel Bruckner that he has returned to training and expects to figure in Dortmund’s final two matches of the campaign.
The Bundesliga’s last match of the 2005/06 season is scheduled for May 13, two days before World Cup squads must be finalized, giving Koller the opportunity to prove he has returned to full fitness.
Koller has 40 goals from 66 internationals, including nine goals in the Czech Republic's World Cup qualifying campaign.
