BOLTON, Jan 7 (SW) - With doubts over Jussi Jaaskelainen's future at the Reebook Stadium in question, Bolton Wanderers today made a move to secure Oman goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi from Norwegian club Lyn.
If the player is given international clearance, Al-Habsi will join the Trotters on a three-and-a-half year contract. Sam Allardyce had previously tried to sign Al-Habsi in 2001, but could not secure the player a work permit.
Al-Habsi was set for a move to Bolton at the end of the Tippeligaen season, a summer league which concluded in October, but Big Sam was delighted to finally add Al-Habsi to his roster.
"We'll certainly give him the platform he needs to become a respected player in the best league in the world," said Allardyce.
