DORTMUND, Apr 28 (SW) - Czeck Republic striker Jan Koller, out since September with a knee injury, could be ready for this summer’s World Cup finals in Germany.

Czech coach Karen Bruckner has confirmed that the Borussia Dortmund striker, who has scored 40 goals in 66 international matches, may still figure in a Bundesliga match this season, giving Bruckner the opportunity to assess his form before the May 15 deadline for the naming of World Cup squads.

"He's optimistic about his participation at the World Cup," the coach said

Bruckner added that three other players were still doubtful for the World Cup: Bordeaux midfielder Vladimir Smicer, Ajax defender Zdenek Grygera and striker Vratislav Lokvenc of Red Bull Salzburg.

The Czechs play in Group E along with the United States, Ghana and Italy.
