MANCHESTER, Sept 29 (SW) – Manchester United’s assistant manager Carlos Queiroz announced here on Friday that United’s defender Mikael Silvestre has picked up a foot injury and could be out for approximately six weeks.
The defender was taken off in United’s home defeat against Arsenal two weeks ago. He has undergone scans which have picked up that he has a damaged metatarsal.
Besides missing United’s next Premier League matches and Champions League matches, the twenty nine year old Silvestre will also miss France's next two European Championship qualifying games.
