Pressure on Martin Jol

28 September 2006 16:29

LONDON, Sept 28, (SW) – Despite their seventeenth placed position in the English Premier League table, Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Jol has insisted that neither he nor his team feel under pressure on the eve of their vital second leg in the European Cup against Slavia Prague at White Hart Lane.

The first leg in Prague ended 1 – 1 giving the Londoners a crucial away goal.

Expected by most pundits to be challenging for a top four position Martin Jol’s men are languishing perilously close to the ‘drop zone’.

Added to the fact that his side haven’t scored a Premier League goal in over seven hours of football, he has only two fit strikers in Robbie Keane and Mido. The injury list grows by the day. The latest casualties are Ledley King (knee), Jermain Defoe (ankle), Dimitar Berbatov (groin) and Edgar Davids (ankle).

Jol added that when he has his players back from injury the goals and results will begin coming their way.
