Brondy complete Sigurdsson signing

Soccerway - 1 September 2006 11:22

BRONDBY, Sep 1 (SW) - Hannes Sigurdsson has left English side Stoke City and joined Brondby.

Sigurdsson had moved to Stoke City from Norwegian side Viking Stavanger in 2005 and although he maintained a place in the Icelandic national team, the striker did not manage to secure a first team place at the Championship club.

"He doesn't fit into the manager's plans. It's best for Hannes and for the club for him to move on," said Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes.

The 22 year old added, "It's a good move for Hannes and good business."
