Barthez to become Rugby Union commentator

PARIS, Oct 6 (SW) – Fabien Barthez, who announced his retirement from soccer yesterday, could be in line to become a Rugby Union commentator.

He revealed that he may turn his attention to rugby commentating. Barthez grew up in the southern region of France where Rugby Union is strong. As a young boy he followed both Rugby Union and Football.

Next year’s Rugby World Cup is due to be held in France and he could be making his commentating debut on an oval ball sport rather than the round one with which he has been more accustomed.
