Sevilla to sign Kerzhakov

SEVILLE, Oct 27 (SW) - Sevilla are working to sign striker Alexander Kerzhakov of Zenit St. Petersburg when the window opens in January.

The hitman has flirted with large European competitions earlier, but rejected an offer of Schalke 04 during the summer.

Kerzhakov currently has a contract until mid 2008, meaning Zenit will have to sell him next summer to get a transfer fee for him. It appears however he will move earlier and is expected to sign for Sevilla in the next couple of days.
