Kenya banned
CAPE TOWN, Oct 25 (SW) – It was announced here on Tuesday by a FIFA official attending a 2010 World Cup organizing committee meeting in Cape Town that Kenya has been suspended from all international competition.
This ban comes into immediate effect and has been implemented for an indefinite period.
Kenya has been beset by internal footballing politics for a number of years and have failed to respect signed agreements.
The FIFA official said that Kenyan football had to be organised according to FIFA principles, which was not being done in that country.
Sepp Blatter had given the Kenyan Football Federation (KFF) until last Wednesday (18th October) to resolve its problems. A week later nothing had been forthcoming.
General Dan Omino, secretary of the Kenyan Football Federation had as yet had no official word from FIFA.
