Del Piero still awaiting 200th goal

TURIN, Oct 22 (SW) - Alessandro Del Piero was visibly displeased as another game finished without him reaching his 200-goal target.

Del Piero was substituted during Juve’s 1-0 over Triestina and has not been able to score since he reached the 199 goal mark.

Some of the Italian media have now suggested the goal is proving to be a psychological issue for the player but his manager does not see a problem.

“He’s going through a difficult time right now. We cannot doubt his quality, but it’s not easy to ignore the outside pressure,” said coach Didier Deschamps.

Adding, “the less he thinks about that goal, the sooner it will arrive.”
