MILAN, Oct 21 (SW) – Inter Milan have decided that Adriano will be given several days of rest in order to recapture his form.

Adriano has not scored in competitive play since March and was dropped for Inter’s 2-1 Champions League win over Spartak Moscow, only making the substitute bench.

“The club, in accordance with the Coach and technical staff, has decided to give Adriano a few days of complete rest,” said a statement from the Italian club.

It concluded, “Adriano will undergo a personalised training programme to recover physically and psychologically, the terms of which will be decided over the next few days.”

“Starting from the Udinese match this weekend, he will not be at the disposal of Roberto Mancini.

It is thought the decision to give the Brazilain some time off was taken because Hernan Crespo, Julio Ricardo Cruz and Alvaro Recoba are all now fit enough to replace the striker.
