EDINBURGH, Oct 13 (SW) - Just days before their local showdown against Hearts, Hibernian are reeling from the news that manager Tony Mowbray is leaving to take over at West Bromwich Albion.
The 42-year-old takes over the reins of the Baggies after they and ex-manager Bryan Robson parted ways after a month of the Coca-Cola Championship season in which promotion was their top priority.
Mowbray, who played for Middlesbrough, Ipswich Town and Celtic in his playing career, will not officially become the manager until Wednesday but has said he will attend the club's matches on Saturday and again on Tuesday.
Mark Venus will be the caretaker manager for Hibs in the interim as the Easter Road side seek out a permanent replacement.
